So, there is another new trend in the make-up world…Strobing!

Now, if you’re thinking , what the hell is strobing, do not panic yourselves people. Strobing is simply highlighting. Yep, that’s it. highlighting. Strobing is meant to create ‘an inner glow’ type look. It’s radiant and youthful and extremely easy to do.

We all know, even if we can’t do it, about the Kardashian inspired contouring. We simply put the dark colours in the hollows of our face e.g. below cheek bones, side of nose, temples etc. and then we highlight in order to create a contrast. Simple yes. Well  skip the dark colour step and you have strobing.

I’m really not kidding here, strobing is the easiest thing to do . Use a highlighter either powder or cream, depending on your skin, and place it lightly on the top of your cheek bones, forehead, cupids bow, chin and above the brows and your done.

Products that I think would be great for strobing.

– creams- No.7 Instant Radiance Highlighter £9.95 ( a dupe for the Clinique Chubby Sticks £19.00, which would also be good)  / Lord and Berry Luminizer Highlighter and Concealer Stick £13.00

Body image is such an important thing to talk about. I think it is extremely important to teach young children the impact of calling someone out on their appearance.

It’s so easy to just throw the word ‘fat’ out there to piss someone off but you need to think about the consequences. You may not realise it but that person may always have that comment on the back of their head, even if you didn’t mean it, every time they try on clothes or shower or look in the mirror. It’s not fair to leave that impact on someone when their weight has nothing to do with you. Could you deal with being the reason someone developed an eating disorder or got bullied or became depressed?

I have experienced it myself. I was always a chubby kid and quite tall for my age. It was something I was super insecure about. When I got to high school, shockingly I seemed to become more confident and at ease with myself as I was surrounded by more people of all age ranges, heights, skin tone, hair colour and weight. It opened by eyes. We grow in different ways, everyone changes and everyone is different. However my confidence was completely knocked when a comment from a boy in class made me so embarrassed and super insecure. In front of my entire class he made a joke about my appearance, the fact that I was tall and chubby. It made me extremely self conscious. I worked out like mad and changed my diet drastically. What gave him the right to call me names? What give him the right to make me feel that bad about my self that I felt I had to eat little and exercise a lot. It changed my whole body at a young age, something I regret. I still think about then comment on bad days and I still resent the guy for it.

Selena Gomez  has been constantly bombarded with weight digs recently. It makes me sick. Yes, Selena put a little weight on. Who the hell cares? If she is happy and healthy, isn’t that all that matters. People calling her ‘too fat to be an actress’, telling her to ‘stop eating junk food and workout’ or the bitchiest comment from TMZ, ‘Selena bathing suit seemed to be working over time’. Get over yourselves. I would love to see the people writing that stuff. Are they that perfect. Do they have no insecurities? Luckily Selena Seems to be in a really good place right now and handled the haters like a boss. She posted a pic of her on her instagram, looking incredible in a swimsuit, with the comment ‘I love being happy with me ‘.

It’s not only calling someone over weight that can cause problems. People seem to forget the effects of calling someone too skinny. This is just as bad. Most recently, Cheryl Fernandez Versini has come under serious criticism about her weight after being spotted out with her former Girls Aloud pals. The comments about Cheryl on the Mail Online website are just plain nasty. One person wrote ‘She’ll never have the children she so desperately craves while she is in that state’ another said ‘put a bit of weight on and keep those horrendous tattoos hidden.’ It’s funny how these commenters think they know Cheryl and feel the need to give her advice…bore off. Cheryl, being another celeb under attack on Instagram, had to defend herself after being labelled ‘a bag of bones’.

Do these pathetic immature rude people have no morals. No sense of right and wrong. No respect for others. I just don’t understand the logic that some people have. I wouldn’t dream of telling someone to loose or put on weight. It has nothing to do with me. If people were less worried about appearance, we wouldn’t live in a materialistic, vain society.

Did you know.. Almost 50% of people with eating disorders meet the criteria for depression
Up to 30 million people of all ages and genders suffer from an eating disorder (anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder) in the U.S
Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness. Eating disorders are caused by bullying/body shaming…

We all have something we don’t like about ourselves. Don’t we? So why not just accept that everyone has flaws, everyone is different and love that instead of bitching about each other. Calling someone else fat, doesn’t make you skinny. Calling someone else ugly doesn’t make you pretty. It makes you a bully. An inconsiderate nasty person with a fat mouth and an ugly personality.

If everyone stopped judging we wouldn’t live in fear of being judged.

Top Drugstore Beauty Buys

I cannot stand make-up snobbery. Drugstore brands are just as good as high end..fact. Yes, there definitely some high end products that are worth splashing out on and some drugstore/high-street products that aren’t worth looking at but these are my Top Drugstore beauty buys that will make you and your purse happy.

Maybelline Fit me Foundation: original Luminous finish.

This Foundation is a drugstore dream buy. There are now two versions available in this product, the luminous finish and the satin matte finish, however when I purchased it there was only the original luminous version. I have sensitive oily skin so of course I was sceptical about trying something dewy but absolutely love it. I personally like applying it with a foundation brush in order to get more coverage but a buffing brush would be ideal if you have skin that isn’t too bad. The coverage is light to medium but I say you could build it up further, just be careful as the more you apply the more dewy it gets. The best part about the Maybelline Fit me range is that there is a wide range of shades including yellows (angels sing). Foundations with yellow undertones often oxidize into an orange patchy mess but this stays true to its colour all day. Mine lasts approximately 4-5 hours before needing another powder touch up but like I said I have oily skin.

Boots : Maybelline Fit Me Foundation £7.99   / £8.99  Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer

Another Maybelline product that I am truly loving. This product claims that it will erase the look of pores from the skin so that your make-up will glide on flawlessly. Does it do this, in my opinion, no it doesn’t! Hold on though people because even though I feel it doesn’t cover pores or remove the look of them it does make you skin super soft and helps make-up last longer. It’s simply a clear gel formula that just needs a second or two to set on your face. Once it has set, pop on your foundation ( I’ve tried multiple brands with it and it seems to work for all )  and it will matify your make-up and make your skin look and feel soft. This product 100% gives my make-up something to cling on to and helps it last for a long time. I say that this is suitable for all skin types, however remember to use a tiny amount and let it set otherwise your make-up will turn into a slip and slide on your face. : £7.99 / Life& : £5.40

     Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

This concealer is a radiant liquid concealer that adds a glowing brightening effect to the under eyes, which is were I suggest applying this product as it is too radiant to put on blemishes. Again. I have oily skin but this product lasts all day under my eyes without creasing. It really does what it says. It totally wakes you up. The concealer can be applied in any way but I find clean fingers work best. There isn’t really a lot to say about this one other than, it’s definitely a must have. The only negative is the limited shades, which is frustrating, however not anything to do with the product itself.

Wake me Up concealer: £9.99 from £6.00

  L’Oreal Paris Brow Artist Plumper

This is by far my favourite L’Oreal product ever. It’s a brow mascara that lightly colours and sets your brows so that they will not budge all day. I have long brow hairs and they are also quite dark ,therefore, I find that a pencil looks very unnatural as it’s noticeable in the gaps of my brows and a shadow can leave them shapeless. This solves these problems. I use the shade medium to dark brown which is perfect foe my as it’s an ash brown which means no horrible red tones. I use this for all looks from no make-up looks or full on going out looks, I even wore it to the beach and went surfing…not one hair moved out of place and there wasn’t brown liquid streaming down my face either. miracle! Tip: wipe of the majority of the product before application because this stuff dries quickly and can be a nightmare to get off if you have applied too much.

L’Oreal Brow Artist Plumper:£5.99/£6.00

No 7 Instant Radiance Highlighter

Everybody buy this now!! Seriously there is no excuse. I am always honest and give both positive and negatives to be as fair as possible with you guys but honestly I cannot fault this product. Its a light weight cream formula that adds the most beautiful glow to the skin. This is a favourite of mine as it sinks into the make-up and blends perfectly rather than sitting on top like most powder highlights do. It photographs amazingly and looks incredible in the sunlight, you don’t have to worry about sparkle all over your face or looking too harsh when out and about. This is suitable for all skin types and comes in a pink tone and bronze tone. I love them both. I can’t gush enough about these products. £9.95

NEW Track Alert: Selena Gomez FT.A$AP Rocky: Good For You

Listen To Good For You Here

This is Selena Gomez at her best! The pervious track ‘The Heart wants What it Wants’ and ‘Good For You’ are welcoming Gomez into the charts with a new sexy mature sound.

This song is mid tempo Hip Hop track with sexy lyrics such as “They say I’ve got a touch, so good, so good, make you never want to leave, so don’t” and Selena Voices is soft with her super amazing Spanish/Mexican twang coming out in some parts. The song is almost a reintroduction of Selena into the music world after she thought she was ready to give up music after her ‘Stars Dance’ album. She has been rocking a new look with killer curves lately as well as having the most amazing new found confidence which is definitely shining through on her latest singles.

I am fully addicted to this song and ‘The Heart Wants What It Wants’ from her previous compilation album is personally one of my favourite Gomez tracks however I am so confused as to why Selena would release ‘I Want You To Know’. She featured on this track with rumoured Boyfriend Zedd and I personally feel it was a step back from the new mature, sultry, classy, Hip Hop/RnB vibe she is going for. Anyway after splitting form Zedd and ditching Bieber, Selena is most definitely on her way to making the best album ever. Hopefully this new sound will get her some well deserved recognition in the music scene.

“Good For You” is the lead single on Gomez’s forthcoming album, which follows Stars Dance as well as the compilation album For You. It seems I’m not the only one loving this song as the track sent it to No. 1 on the Billboard + Twitter Trending when Gomez revealed the cover art last week; the track returned to the top straight after after the audio dropped.

Listen for yourself….”Good For You,” is was available on iTunes right now or Link at the top of the page . x

STOP the Yulin Dog Meat Festival

The Yulin Dog Festival started 2/3 years ago in China. This is a relevantly new tradition which takes place at the beginning of the summer months. This year at the 2015 festival which took place yesterday and will take place again today, there will be around 10,000 dogs slaughtered for their meat at the Lychee and Dog Meat Festival in Yulin in Guangxi province mark the summer solstice.  The tradition of eating dog meat dates back four or five hundred years in China, South Korea and other countries, as it is believed to ward off the heat of the summer months, according to state news agency Xinhua.

There has been a social media outcry to get this vicious event stopped with a petition that has gained over 3.8 million signatures so far and the hashtag #stopYulin2015 trending worldwide. However despite opposition around the world including China, a retired school teacher from Tianjin hit the headlines when she purchased dozens of dogs to save them, the festival will still continue.

To make any kind of  difference I believe that petitioning every year around summer isn’t good enough. The ‘StopYulin’ campaign needs to be an all year dedication. If people just retweet messages or like instagram post against the festival when it has already started, it’s not going to make a difference. These animals cannot speak up for themselves. They can’t tell anyone how scared they are. It’s bad enough that this innocent animals are taken from their homes and killed to be eaten but they are brutally tortured for no reason before the killing. It’s sick! What gives people the right to do this to, not just other peoples animals, any animals. Yes, it’s a culture thing, I understand that everywhere around the world has different traditions but this is wrong. Period. It’s not religious. It’s not benefitting the people in any way. It needs to stop.

These animals were not born to be brutally killed.

Teni Panosian

This is vlogger/blogger/beauty guru, Teni Panosian. This is basically an appreciation post!

I am 100% addicted to her videos. Teni was my inspiration to start a blog and maybe later in life start Youtube videos. She is one of the nicest, sweetest people and is insanely talented not to mention crazily beautiful and……she ‘favourited’ a tweet of mine!!!!! (fan-girling) Also she talked to me on Instagram (I almost died).

She creates vlogs of her travelling everywhere from the Bahamas to London to New York , style videos, hauls  and make-up tutorials but her ‘Get ready with Me’ videos are my personal favourite. Her make-up is always (Beyoncé voice) flawless and her style is incredible.

There is no real point to this post other than to vent appreciation for this women. I hope she is happy in life and career and continues to make incredible videos that inspire many and help me get through boring days.

Her Insta/Twitter is -@TeniPanosian .

X Factor 2015

X Factor 2015.

The new X Factor line up has been announced….not a very well kept secret! Cheryl Fernandez Versini (that just doesn’t flow), Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora will sit next to each other on the 2015 panel. I’m looking forward to seeing Nick, he is an extremely popular figure on radio not to mention his breakfast show is always hilarious. He , hopefully, will bring new life to the show . The X Factor definitely needs to be shaken up…it’s been crap since 2011.

Cheryl Cole Tweedy Fernandez Versini is back!!!! I’m not going to lie, Cheryl is my guilty pleasure. YES …I know that she isn’t the best singer but she has made a great career for herself and bitching about her lack of vocal ability is not going to change that plus the girl can dance! Anyway, I was looking forward to her big return last year but it felt… Limp. I don’t think she did herself any favours with this new found cockiness. Hopefully she will return to the sweet, humble girl that the nation fell in love with.

Now, Rita is a mystery to me. I didn’t think she would sell herself for the money. She already had her ‘The Voice’ role which was good but I didn’t think she would be into the whole X Factor hype.  Of course, Rita first appeared on the show in 2012 as a guest judge, maybe she had the best time of her life then and ‘The Voice’ was just passing time. I think that if she really says what she believes, in a nice way, doesn’t just mimic Cheryl and keeps her sense of humour…she could be quite good but let’s face it she is doing it for the money and future album/single sales.

Rita on her new role as X Factor judge “I am excited to be coming back to The X Factor – I had a ball here in 2012,” she said. “This is a journey I can’t wait to embark on to find some talented singers. Its the new generation taking over. Booooom”

Overall I think that this year will be quite good but  I don’t think they will ever find a panel as good as Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue, Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell..that was the dream team
